Established in 2013, Bastion Ministries is a New Orleans-based ministry founded by Jeremy and Shannon Mangerchine. In 2012, God broke loose in Jeremy’s life, leading him out of the traditional business arena and into a non-traditional, Christ-centered ministry.

In multiple encounters, God overwhelmed Jeremy’s consciousness, awakening Jeremy to the depth of His Savior’s goodness. In that relationship, the Holy Spirit revealed Jeremy’s divine calling — to awaken others to the reality of their identity and destiny in Christ, teaching them to live proactively in and for the Kingdom of God. As a result of God defining that calling, Jeremy and Shannon now partner with the Holy Spirit in full-time active ministry, helping people awaken to the immeasurable intimacy available to them in Jesus Christ. This is Bastion Ministries.  In Bastion, Jeremy and Shannon use ALL of their God-given gifts and resources to encourage, inspire and empower people to walk in the fullness of life which God promises but few experience.

Combining Jeremy’s passion for relational intimacy with God and Shannon’s passion for building deep community, together Jeremy and Shannon seek to connect people to God and to each other. They believe that God, at His very core, is intensely relational. They want to see people awakened to this reality, to grow in deeper relationship, intimacy and love with their Father and the church as the universal body of believers. People need God, and we all need each other.

First contact with many people happens through planned events. These events are open to everyone, from the person in a thriving relationship with God to someone who doesn’t even believe God exists. Bastion hosts events throughout New Orleans bringing people together for play-dates, business lunches, book clubs, potlucks, family activities and more. Through these events Jeremy, Shannon and their ministry partners connect with people and begin to build relationships.

For people interested in something deeper than those events, Bastion offers smaller more spiritually focused groups, studies and one-on-one discipleship. Jeremy and Shannon are putting the finishing touches on a curriculum that we plan to use as we launch new intentional small groups in 2017. Bastion has also hosted conferences the past several years and will schedule its first formal retreat for the Spring of 2017.

In addition to local ministry, Bastion takes part in annual international ministry trips to India to train pastors, leaders and congregations to walk in intimacy with, and in the power of, the Holy Spirit.

Jeremy and Shannon also produce and release encouraging and inspiring content through social media channels, speaking engagements, and both authoring and publishing multiple books (The Longest Bridge across Water, The Quitter’s Manual and The Table and the Dream).

While Jeremy and Shannon have a deep affection for their city and see New Orleans as the primary mission field for Bastion Ministries, God has also called them into a global context, to be a part of a great awakening breaking out throughout our country and amidst other nations.

[For my concern is] that their hearts may be braced (comforted, cheered, and encouraged) as they are knit together in love, that they may come to have all the abounding wealth and blessings of assured conviction of understanding, and that they may become progressively more intimately acquainted with and may know more definitely and accurately and thoroughly that mystic secret of God, [which is] Christ (the Anointed One).

In Him all the treasures of [divine] wisdom (comprehensive insight into the ways and purposes of God) and [all the riches of spiritual] knowledge and enlightenment are stored up and lie hidden.
